Meet the floor renovators

“You don’t get employees doing your floor – I do your floor!”

MEET HEATH

Born and bred in New Zealand, Heath is your number one floor renovator. With more than 20 years’ experience in floor renovation, Heath started out in 2004 working as an apprentice for Floorco, Auckland. He went on to set up his own floor sanding company in 2005 which he sold in 2012.

Heath became trade qualified in 2012, and the same year he became National Sales Manager for German flooring brand, Pallman. In 2013, Heath set up his second flooring company alongside his role as National Technical Contact for Belgium floor oil brand, Rubio Monocoat. Heath sold his second flooring company before moving to the UK in 2024 and setting up Mighty Bull.

FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • Do I need to clean my floor before floor sanding begins?

Yes, we would aim to start wood floor sanding on a clean floor to prevent damage to our sanding machines, so we can begin the work immediately and remain on schedule.

  • How do I prepare my space for floor sanding?

Before Mighty Bull begins sanding floors, we would request that you clear the area of any furniture and personal items, to include curtains and rugs, and any other items that may be affected by dust.

  • How long does the floor sanding process take?

The floor sanding process varies based on factors such as the size of the area, the condition of the floor, and the extent of repairs needed. On average, a standard room may take 1-2 days.

  • What is floor sanding, and why is it necessary?

Wood floor sanding is a process whereby the top layer of a wooden floor is removed to smooth out imperfections, scratches, and wear. Choosing to have a timber floor refresh will largely extend its lifespan.

  • What types of floors need sanding and sealing?

Timber floor sanding is typically suitable for hardwood floors, engineered wood, and some types of softwood.

  • What is the cost to have floors sanded and refinished?

The cost to have your floors sanded and refinished varies depending on the size of the room and the state of the floor. Might Bull can offer a free non-obligatory quote to determine the exact cost of the job and answer any questions you might have.

  • Why should I hire a professional floor sander?

Sanding floors can be a time consuming and messy process. Might Bull floor sanders have the expertise and equipment to deliver high-quality results, potentially saving you money on repairs or re-sanding in the future.

  • How do you tell if wood floors can be sanded?

Customers are often surprised how renovating old wooden floors can transform them into a stylish, low maintenance and durable feature of their home. Even floors damaged by time, can be vastly improved with some floorboard repairs, replacement, and staining.

  • How long after finishing floors can you put the furniture back?

Your furniture may be replaced after 72 hours. All furniture that is in contact with the timber floor needs to have felt pads added for protection. Floor rugs and non-slip underlay should stay off the wooden floors for a few weeks to allow the floor to completely cure.

  • Do I need to vacate my home when my floors are being sanded?

We would advise you to leave the house whilst the wood floor sanding takes place as there will be noise, dust and potentially hazardous fumes which could be a risk to your health.

  • How do I maintain my floors after sanding and refinishing?

Regularly sweep or hoover your sanded floors to remove dirt and debris. Place felt pads on furniture feet to prevent scratching, clean with a recommended wood floor cleaner and avoid using excessive water.

We always have happy clients:
